David Reynolds studied prehistory and other really interesting stuff at Auckland University and has over 35 years experience working in the cultural heritage field, at Auckland Museum, the Department of Conservation and the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. Since 2007 he has operated his own consultancy in the areas of buildings archaeology, heritage evaluation, conservation planning and cyclical maintenance planning for historic buildings. He is the founding Chair of ICOMOS New Zealand and retains this association as an Executive Board member and is a member of The Association for Preservation Technology International (APT).
