On Fragile Wings
 | I Runga i Ngā Parirau Marore

Sponsored by Derek

Like so much of our unique and precious natural heritage, our majestic birds of prey are under threat. Written by conservation pioneer Debbie Stewart The Hunters, the precarious lives of NZ’s birds of prey is a significant contribution to our understanding of NZ’s heritage and environment. To discuss these extraordinary birds and the challenges they face, Debbie will be joined in conversation by friend, fellow falconer and journalist Rachel Stewart.

Debbie Stewart is the founder and current Executive Director of the Wingspan National Bird of Prey Centre in Rotorua. Since the 1970s, Debbie has been a keen conservationist and a falconer; by passion and lifestyle.

Rachel Stewart is a NZ Herald columnist, and winner of the 2016 Canon Media Award ‘Opinion Writer of the Year’. She is a farmer, falconer, and fighter for clean waterways and climate change action.
