Different Out Loud explores the identities and experiences that thrive within the natural and built environments of west Auckland. From the environmental beauty of Te Henga, to the hustling, bustling realm of Glen Eden, to the towering forest of Tiriwa and all its highways and byways, the diverse strangeness of the Waitākere region spreads across our screen like kohukohu moss: soft but precise, strange yet familiar. Individually, these films are unique and delicate miracles. As a whole, the collection forms a road trip, a spiritual trip, and, well, just a trip.

Going West received funding from Waitākere Ranges Local Board and Creative New Zealand to make these films, with additional support from The Trusts Charitable Foundation, The Trusts, Foundation North and South Pacific Pictures. Delicious Babich wines will be available on the night at a sharp price.
